Clinical Social Work Associate
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a social worker, and therapist for adults.
I am deeply passionate about working with trauma. I work with any kind of trauma at any level of severity, collaborating with you to address Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Dissociative Identity Disorder, and other effects of trauma such as impact on the body, nightmares, hypervigilance, depression, and anxiety.
As a social worker, it is important for me to look not just at the mind, but also relationships, community, and larger societal systems. I find it crucial to consider how systems of capitalism, white supremacy, ableism, transphobia and other areas of oppression impact the mental health of each of us.
My goal is to approach our work together with humility and curiosity, and hold a space that is safe and welcoming. The trust we build is what leads us toward making progress in all areas of need in therapy.
I work in modalities including EMDR, Gestalt Therapy, Existential- Humanistic Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Solutions Focused Therapy. I enjoy working in humanistic therapy in particular because of how powerful it can be to practice self determination, especially when trauma has made this feel impossible in other areas of life.
I have a MSW in Clinical Social Work, with a specialization in integrated behavioral health from Portland State University. I have a BA in Environmental Studies and Politics from Whitman College.
