(SHE/THEY)
Professional Counselor Associate
I am a Professional Counselor Associate who works with teens and adult individuals, couples, and relationships.
I see therapy as a journey the clinician and the client(s) take together. My clients are the experts on themselves and their experiences, and I bring in my skills as a mental health professional, so together we can decide the best plan for their mental growth and recovery.
The primary focus of my work with individual teens and adults is LGBTQIA+ and trans issues, people struggling with ADHD and Autism, PTSD and trauma related issues. I also work with couples and with people in non-traditional relationships like ethical non-monogamy, polyamory and kink dynamics.
Though I bring an eclectic approach to my work, my primary treatment tools are grounded in Feminist Narrative and Internal Family Systems. I find the combination of personal empowerment, systemic deconstruction, the rewriting of personal narrative and externalizing of problems organized by parts, work together well to support clients.
I received my BA in Psychology from The College of Idaho and have been working in community mental health in one form or another since then. I completed my MS in Marriage, Couples, and Family Counseling with an emphasis in Grief, Trauma, and Crisis Counseling from Northwest Nazarene University.
